SIMPLE EXTRACTIONS

Composite restoration have a natural, tooth-like appearance and are used primarily on anterior teeth, although many patients now prefer to have composite fillings placed on posterior teeth. Two major advantages of this type of restoration is that it bonds to the tooth and it matches the tooth colour giving an aesthetically pleasing result.

CROWN LENGTHENING

Crowns must be able to firmly affix to an existing tooth. Crown lengthening can help. At Dr. Alex Tsai Dental Centre we perform crown lengthening by recontouring gum tissue, and sometimes bone, to expose more of a tooth's surface for a crown. It's a common procedure and often takes less than an hour to complete.

WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL

At Dr.Alex Tsai Dental Centre we can remove (extract) a wisdom tooth. Before removing a wisdom tooth, our dentist will give you a local anesthetic to freeze the area where the tooth will be removed. A general anesthetic may be used, especially if several or all of your wisdom teeth will be removed at the same time. A general anesthetic prevents pain in the whole body and will cause you to sleep through the procedure. Our dentist will probably recommend that you don't eat or drink after midnight on the night before surgery so that you are prepared for the anesthetic.

BONE GRAFTING

In a bone graft procedure, the dentist will use a special bone grafting material, and graft it onto your jaw bone. A successful bone graft allows your jaw bone to be strong enough to support your dental implant. Once the bone graft is complete, the rest of the implant surgery can proceed. As with any surgical procedure, it is important to discuss your personal medical history and all the risks and benefits of the surgery with our dentist. Once your doctor decides you are a good fit for the procedure, you can look forward to a brand new smile.

IMPLANTS

Dental implants have become a reliable and standard way of replacing teeth. Implantology has become so reliable and predictable in the last decade. Long term studies are showing close to 99.9% success rates. Newer materiels allow for stronger and more esthetic restorations. At the same time advances make the surgery quick, with minimal discomfort.
